My Review :
This movie is not good.
Even if the story has already been seen lots of time, I thought it would be a nice thing to see, as Zola’s stories are always quite interesting. But this movie definitely not a tribute to his work.
It is apathietic, obvious, without any wit and kind of boring. We don’t feel anything for anybody. We have just indifference for the characters and the story. We don’t believe in the love story and that a problem, as the movie is all about this love story.

And the actors are so underemployed. Elizabeth Olsen and Jessica Lange deserve better than that. Mackenzie Crook is more than that too. And Tom Felon should really choose to play a different kind of character. Every time, he choose someone we are going to pity at some point.

Well, you shouldn’t waste your time with it !
